We’re always to eager to hear ideas for the FutureMe community. Either vote on an existing idea or enter a new one!

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  2. Allow users to attach pictures to refresh memories.

    FutureMe should allow users to attach a few images so that, in a couple years time... maybe you get a new device and lose your previous pictures... It would add to the surprise of an email from the past you! :)

  3. Fix the "verify this link so your email can be sent" thing.

    One of the emails got marked as spam so I couldn't click the link to allow it to be sent and now my letter is gone forever. It really ruined my 'one letter a-day' over the summer plan...

  5. Future Letter To Others :D (I don't know if someone have post this idea too though)

    It would be nice if we can actually send a future email or letter to someone too :D I'd like if we can actually surprise someone by our unexpected letter years later especially if it turns out that we might say get into accident or something like that, it would be nice if those people around us can still get "our" email so they will be reminded on how much we love them :)

  6. Eliminate Captcha Code

    Eliminate Captcha Code or find a way for someone to set their account to avoid Captcha Codes. When I have downtime, like to send a bunch of letters and that has been a real speed bump.

  7. Fix the bug that lets you read emails before they are due

    Just today I found a bug in the system -

    To do this you go to your account, then you click on a letter that has already been delivered (for example http://www.futureme.org/users/#######/letters/XXXXXXXX/post_send_view)

    You save this URL. Now you go back to your list of letters, and click on [edit] next to the email of one of the emails that will be sent in the future, and that can not be read right now (it should look like http://www.futureme.org/users/XXXXXXX-NAME/letters/#######-a-letter-from-february-15th-2014).

    Now you copy that string of numbers in front of the title of the letter (I wrote in 7 #'s,…

  8. Let me send a letter to someone else without notifying them!

    I really want to send a letter to my boyfriend in the future, around 10- 20 years?
    Well, the problem is that when you send a letter, it sends a notification to the email address.
    I find that a nuisance, because the entire point is that I want it to be a surprise when it's opened in around 10 years :/
    I know that I can just make an account, but I want to sign off as anonymous :/

    I can only log in on my ipad, not on my computer because it says that it's not correct. But it is. So maybe you can fix that?

  13. Captcha code problem

    I've written approximately ten letters (as a registered user), but realised with the last one I sent that I've forgotten to type in the Captcha code. There were no system prompts telling me to do so, and the letters are all listed in list, but I am concerned that they will not be sent.

    Please advise?

  14. Show us the current time in the Future Me timezone so that we know when exactly (to the nearest day) letters will arrive

    A date isn't specific enough when users come from many different time zones

  15. opening an account is impossible as site will not allow me to scroll down to enter info

    arrange to allow a client to scroll down so that they can fill in the required info. I can scroll down on everything else on the web but your site. please correct. until then I cannot open an account.

  16. why the 30 days!

    The concept is great! I was just wondering why the 30 days? Your tag line says emails are more reliable than memory, so what if I have something to do the next week or say day after. Calenders are just too outdated! futureMe could be very useful! I have an idea and here I email it to myself for about a week later. And say what if I have loads of tasks to do the next day, I can just email it to myself! Cheers!

    I wrote to myself in Chinese a year ago, then I recieved them this year but they are saying random characters but not what I wrote. I wish FutureMe can fix this problem

  19. Make it so the changing private to public/anonymous works. mine will not save the change

  20. education version

    I would like to see an education version of this for schools. one where we don't have to see language issues on the front page, etc. I think this is a great idea and this could really be something big for schools to leverage.
