Let me send a letter to someone else without notifying them!
I really want to send a letter to my boyfriend in the future, around 10- 20 years?
Well, the problem is that when you send a letter, it sends a notification to the email address.
I find that a nuisance, because the entire point is that I want it to be a surprise when it's opened in around 10 years :/
I know that I can just make an account, but I want to sign off as anonymous :/10 votesThis works today – just register for an account first, confirm your email, and then you can send an email to others. They will see your address when they receive it in the future.

Allow us to see letters delivered today!
Have a section where we read the public letters that will be delivered today.
so all letters set for march 13th, 2010 would be visible on that day, because it's exciting to know that others are getting mail. :]9 votesYou can do this in the new version of the site we just launched!

Not require a confirmation link so that I can suprise my friends with FutureMe letters! (or send the confirm link to my email, not theirs)
I think that Future Me should either not require a confirmation link, so that I can send a future letter to my friend's email as a surprise, or have a To, From option so that the confirmation link will be sent to me, but the letter will be sent to my friend.
8 votesIf you are signed in then you can write letters to others and they will not be notified!

Allow us to read full public letters, instead of just the first few lines
The best letters are usually the longest ones and it sucks when we can't read them. I want to be able to read them whole. After all, if the sender allowed them to be public and anonymous, why not
8 votesYou can read FutureMe public letters! Just click the link to read the full letter!
-
allow users to respond once they've rec'd their letters and post those with the originals.
I wanna see how it turns out!
8 votesYou can now do this with the most recent version! Just go to your account page, and choose “respond to the past”

education version
I would like to see an education version of this for schools. one where we don't have to see language issues on the front page, etc. I think this is a great idea and this could really be something big for schools to leverage.
7 votesWe have recently launched a version of FutureMe for teachers which let’s you create a private version for your students – check it out here: https://www.futureme.org/pro

Funding
To help with funding why don't you sign up for Google ad sense and monetize the website? (if you haven't already)
6 votesWe have…and could do more…but we are also hesitant to go too far with advertising and making our “users the product” which is what happens…

How to cancel the message??
How to cancel the message??
I have to say,I regret.
I filled in a friend's e-mail address and wrote a letter to him,but now I think it's stupid.
I'm afraid next year we will feel embarrassed5 votesIf you have an account highly recommended you can delete any unsent message.
Even if you didn’t create an account to begin with, if you follow the link in the original verification email that you got, you can create an account for that letter, and then delete it if you want.
-
Tell us the email address it'll be sent from
This way, I can set up a filter so it won't be sent to spam, and I don't have to worry about deleting my message.
5 votesWe do actually mention this, both after hitting “submit”, and then at the “what” page:
“…the letter will be delivered from the email address: mailer (then the at sign) futureme.org”
cool?

Implement Grace Period
Please, please implement your grace period for sending letters to the future, where you can alter the date after 48 hours. It's very easy to accidentally hit e.g. the wrong year, after which you can't do anything, which is a major flaw.

Fix the bug that lets you read emails before they are due
Just today I found a bug in the system -
To do this you go to your account, then you click on a letter that has already been delivered (for example http://www.futureme.org/users/#######/letters/XXXXXXXX/post_send_view)
You save this URL. Now you go back to your list of letters, and click on [edit] next to the email of one of the emails that will be sent in the future, and that can not be read right now (it should look like http://www.futureme.org/users/XXXXXXX-NAME/letters/#######-a-letter-from-february-15th-2014).
Now you copy that string of numbers in front of the title of the letter (I wrote in 7 #'s,…
