Allow us to see unsent messages in our accounts
Allow us access to unsent messages before they are sent so that the option to delete them is more applicable because we will actually know what was written in the letter.
Also sometimes it's nice to look at it before it is sent to remember what we wrote, for example: If you wrote a letter to yourself 30 years from now you can look at it at anytime before and after it is sent.
Sorry – this would violate the space-time continuum! :)

Absolutely not. Defeats the whole purpose.

I need this now!

There's actually a way that you can see your unsent messages, but I guess I'll better keep it to myself. I don't want them to remove this "feature".

doesn't that defeat the purpose?

@KP - you can go to your account page (upper right) and see the list of letters and change public/private status and delete them

With the old website, we were able to see a list of emails yet to be received in the future. I'd like to be able to see that again. Not to edit or anything, just to know if someone is going to receive a letter from me soon. I can actually see messages that are going to be sent to the future, but i can only sort by date written, not date received. Is it possible to do this now? I can't see how.

This is so very necessary.
I got a mail from FutureMe a couple of weeks ago - but not because I wrote anything. It was a confirmation mail to check that this is indeed my mail address, so that they can send "my" future letter to me when time comes. But I didn't write anything. Somebody else did this, probably somebody close, because not everybody around me knows that e-mail address and they knew that I was going to get a confirmation mail anyway. And I'm craving to learn what's in that mail. It's set to Jul 11, 2012 - I can't wait for that long! I've been searching the public letters like crazy, but I can't find it. We need this, you see; and I don't think I'm the only person with a case like this.
Please. I'm begging you.
You don't want people going crazy because of that setting, right? It's bad publicity. :P
Please? -

I think we should be able to open it with some conditions. Especially if written to someone else. Not unlimited access but maybe within a certain timeframe of writing. Like within 24 hours or 7 days or something.

And also, sorry that I have to add more. To the futureme mod below me, I don't think the space-time continuum theory should be followed so strictly, it should gear towards a slightly user-friendly setting. Because if followed strictly, the reply to the past feature becomes totally pointless, for if we follow it strictly we should've received a reply from our future shortly after we click send for our mail to the future.
The fact that I don't really get a reply from the future, well, blatantly shows that our roleplay could only get us so far.

I think this should be implemented only under these conditions: 1). If the letter is not for YOU but supposed to be sent to someone else. 2). Only allow to open the unsent message ONCE after clicking send. 3). After opening the unsent message, you can only DELETE or do nothing, no editing allowed.
The reasoning? Well, lots of people write things in the heat of the moment to someone else; heartbreaks, drunken love words, confession of love at lonely times, etc. And you have forgotten about them, I think it would be nice to take a look to make sure that it IS appropriate and won't have ripples through your life after they read it. After you look at them, you can either delete or keep it there. The important thing is that the letter is not FOR YOU, but for SOMEONE ELSE.

WTF? why do people like this idea? No offense but it defeats the purpose. You don't need to edit yourself or your thoughts or feelings. If you do the letter won't be as meaningful when you receive it.

DISLIKE! This defeats the whole point of futureme, because if you can see your letter before the predetermined date it isn't really being sent to the future, but to the present at your leisure!

I don't think it would be cheating cause you would have a copy of the email you sent to a friend in your sent items folder so you could read it when ever you liked
-
wouldn't this really be cheating?
b/c technically you would not be sending a message to the future then. the idea is that you press "send" and then it's delivered to your future self. just like when you write an email to a friend in the present, and in this case, you can't intercept that letter, right? isn't that kinda the same?

I agree. I just started on this site and I want ot make corrections, but I can not. Also, I might change my mind later. We should able to open unsent message.
