Allow people under 18 to have an account for free past 20 letters
I think that it's not fair that I will have to pay for my letters after I reach 20 despite the fact that I don't even have any money because I'm a minor. I think that all letters written by a minor should be sent. After a minor turns 18 they can pay more. I think that right now it's not really very necessary to make minors pay.

Interest/Question Sheets
In addition to the option of writing a full email, it might be cool to have a sheet with some random questions about current interests to remind your future self what you were once into. Question examples: "What's your favorite song right now? What's the last movie you saw in theaters?" Just quick little insights into who you once were!

Allow users to change the year sent
Many people have sent mail and accidentally wrote the wrong year and noticed after 48 hours when they can no longer change the date.

Have an option for the USER decided if they want to lock the letter or not.
Sometimes the letter is not that secretive and I feel I little bit weird being obligate to not read my letter lol (hope it made sense, English is not my first language)

allow personal information to be redacted from letters when made public
Say you have a letter from 10 years ago, it's an all-around hallmark heartwarmer and it deserves to be shared with the world. Maybe 15 year old you recounts the story of how Uncle Phyllis and Aunt Paul took you to make snow angels outside 123 Home Street, or maybe the story is a little more sensitive. The only issue is, in an effort to remind yourself of the memory you've also written their full address, phone numbers and parents' maiden names. Oops!
Could this be solved with a simple "Make letter public with censors"? My suggestion would be that…

Hide when the letter was written
I still wonder how this isn't a function yet, we should be able to hide when we wrote our letters, I sometimes don't want to know when I wrote the letter I sent to my future self.
You could also add this to the premium perk, I'll pay for it. (I'm sure many of us need this feature asap)9 votes -
Refund me the 19.99 I was charged randomly after almost 2 years of using the service
I am not sure why but my debit card was charged 19.99 from futureme.org in November 2021. I have not used this service since 2019 and never signed up for anything that involved payment

Add the day name in front of the date
Right now, the titel is A letter from (Date), but it would be really fun to have the day name in there as well. For example: A letter from Friday March 6 2020. I understand we could do this manually, but it would be really handy if it would be there automatically.

Hide the receiving dates
I saw that there is an option to receive letters at a date of an random age, but as I finished the letter, I saw the date I will receive it. Bummer! It would have been such a great thing to just not know the date!
This is the same with the letter overview. Sometimes it's just more fun to not be able to see when you get a letter, so the surprise is bigger.
Is there an option to make that box not visable to those who not want to see it.
Or maybe a box below the letter…3 votes -
Defaulted Anonymous
When we send letters to other people, the default names should be unknown or hidden. I tried sending emails to other people but my email is written in there. I thought it would make me anonymous automatically but the other person knew it was me because my email is written after the date I wrote my letter.

Allow Senders to decide if they want to be CCd on emails to others
When I send a future email to a friend, I don't like that I also get the email. It's more fun to forget what I sent and it feels less personal for them if we both get the email.

Filter public letters by language
To be able to see the public letters in a certain language (for example, with a filter that allows you to choose between Italian, English, Spanish, Russian, etc), you could use https://github.com/CLD2Owners/cld2 to determine in which language a letter was written.
For voice messages perhaps https://github.com/mozilla/DeepSpeech could be used in conjunction with CLD2.7 votes -

add one joker
add a joker thing that you can only use one time and only one time and never again to read a letter before the date it is supposed to be delivered, it could be useful for people who regret to have send a letter too far in the future
