We’re always to eager to hear ideas for the FutureMe community. Either vote on an existing idea or enter a new one!

futureme.org should...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. allow modification of date to be sent

    Allowing updates to the message would be useful.
    Only other option is to delete the old message and create a new one.

  2. Video or voice recordings

    I think it would be pretty cool to record video or voice recordings to your future self. you could see how you looked or sounded. i think it would be pretty cool.

  3. Emotes And Birthday cards!

    As you know many people like to send stuff to themselves when thy turn 50 or 30 or 13 or 25 and stuff so it would be cool if we could send something colourful!

    You can do this already by sending an email to your phone number @ your carrier – for example: 1231231234@txt.att.net

    If you search the web, you can find a list of domains for specific carriers.

    (Note that we do not do any special formatting for txt so if your note is too long…it will be broken up…We might do a an SMS-specific formatting feature at some point in the, ah hem, future…)

  5. Add a recording option

    I think it would be nice if we were allowed to record between 10 - 30 seconds of us speaking, so we can see if there's any difference; also I think if we read out a section of the letter, maybe the most emotional part, it would help emphasise our message.

  6. Let the user Reschedule his previous mails or Change Recipients 

    There arises a possibility that mail we intend to send to a close friend of ours is no longer someone whom we can trust. In that case we wouldn't want him to receive the mail we have scheduled him to receive.
 So it would be great if Futureme allows us modify recipients of the mail after the mail has been scheduled.
  Another requirement can be of modifying the Date to which mail is to be sent.Such situation can arise when we realize that the earlier planned moment was not the right moment...and it has to be changed.

  7. Let us specify time of day.

    If we could specify time of day and time zone, we could send email to Friday afternoon and say "Have a good weekend! Don't do anything I wouldn't do!"

  9. let users search for letters from the past.

    I wrote a letter in 2007 and have since forgotten my account number. I never received it, so I looked for it today. It was a pain having to go through the thousands of letters to find mine. and I gave up after 20 minutes of clicking "next, " "next, ", next...

    how about we type in words so we can find them faster?

  10. Allow users who have a microphone or to record voice messages to send to the future

    I dont know about you guys, but i think it would be kinda cool to be able to not only send emails to the future, but also be able to send voice messages as well.

    We are excited to launch this feature.

    Everyone should be aware that this is a feature that will only be available to Premium users, which costs $5/year for your first year and $10 each additional year. I hope you all agree this will be worth it!

  12. futureme should add an option to send to many emails.

    What I mean is there should be an option to send many email addresses at a time so I could send one future letter to many people without having to do much work.

  13. Have a 2nd address in case the first is returned by server.

    I've had the same yahoo address for years, but things change in time. It would be nice to have a second address for the system to try if the first is returned undeliverable by server.

    You can change your email and the email associated with letters already .

    The tricky issue is if you lose access to your old email and end up locked out an unable to log in – so make sure that you change your FutureMe account email before that happens.

  14. futureme.org via snail mail!

    You could send yourself or your friends a future letter, to be delivered via snail mail, on the date of your choosing. Much more romantic, don't you think?

  15. comment on public letters

    For the letters that are public maybe futureme could put in a comment area so people can comment on the letters. Then when the letter is sent the comments get attached as well and the person recieving can see people's reactions to his/her letter

  16. Allow us to 'LOCK' our messages

    So I don't get tempted to read the messages, I want to be able to LOCK THEM. I only want to read them on the day I have set them to be sent. Knowing myself, i will try and have a peak, and spoil the suprise!
